ALAN CARR'S PICTURE SLAM RENEWED FOR THIRD SERIES ON BBC ONE
Following another successful run in 2024, Saturday night family favourite Alan Carr’s Picture Slam will return to BBC One and iPlayer later this year for a third series, with a reduced episode count of just six episodes.
The addictive quiz show sees host Alan Carr test contestants’ knowledge (and speed!) in a number of fast-paced rounds as they try to identify as many pictures as they can to be in the chance of winning the £10,000 jackpot. Last year’s series averaged 3.2m across its run, peaking at 4.1m, making it the second biggest Entertainment teatime title.
The first series of Alan Carr’s Picture Slam aired in 2023 and was the BBC’s biggest Entertainment launch of the year and the second biggest new Entertainment launch across the market.
Alan Carr says: “I am beyond excited that Picture Slam is back for a series 3. This show is an absolute joy to be part of - irreverent, silly but most importantly fun! And you never know you might even learn something!! Here’s to slamming more pictures!!! Yay!”
Toby Stevens and Ben Shephard, Executive Producers of Picture Slam say: “It’s brilliant to be able to welcome Alan Carr back to Glasgow to make more Picture Slam. While you never know quite what you’ll get in our weird and wonderful mix of pictures, with Alan at the helm we do know there’ll be plenty of laughs and loads of play along fun.”
Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC adds: "Our audience will be excited to know that there’s going to be a third series of Alan Carr’s Picture Slam. Alan is truly one of the best hosts on TV, he has a magical way of connecting with the contestants with his infectious energy and quick wit. This seemingly simple game turns up so many funny moments, and what’s great is that all the family can play along."
Picture Slam (6x45’) is made by Objective Entertainment, part of All3Media’s Objective Media Group and was commissioned by Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC.
