Following a pilot earlier this year hosted by Rob Beckett, Comedy Central UK has announced a brand-new comedy entertainment show, Am I The A**hole?. The eight-part series, devised and produced by Tuesday’s Child for Comedy Central UK, will see top comedian Jimmy Carr as the host.

Am I the A**hole? is one of Reddit’s favourite subreddits, with 24 million people worldwide in the online community. Since 2013, r/amitheasshole has been the go-to place for people seeking judgment from strangers and asking each other to settle recent conflicts.

Jimmy Carr’s Am I The A**hole? (8 X 60’) will invite members of the public to come before host Jimmy Carr and a panel of two other comedians to ask their hilarious, controversial, and downright shocking ‘Am I the A**hole?’ questions.

These questions will cover everything from jaw-dropping relationship disputes to the pettiest of family squabbles and stories of behaviours that are guaranteed to split opinion. With Jimmy having the final say, each potential a**hole will leave knowing once and for all whether or not they are ‘The A**hole’.

Steph Harris for Tuesday’s Child and Iestyn Barker for Comedy Central UK will serve as Executive producers alongside the creator of the Am I The A**hole subreddit, Marc Beaulac. This collaboration will ensure that show stays true to the spirit of the subreddit, bringing its distinctive brand of humour and judgement to a wider audience.

Host Jimmy Carr said: “Seems odd that anyone would ask me to host a show about a**holes. I should be grateful, but I feel a little insulted.  I guess I’m an a**hole. Well, it takes an a**hole to know an a**hole so I’m the right man for the job. I’m very much looking forward to being Comedy Central’s Proctologist in Residence. There are an impressive number of a**holes in our country and they’re finally getting the recognition they deserve on national television.”

Steph Harris, Executive Producer, Tuesday’s Child, commented: “Am I the A***hole? is only a question you ask if you’re convinced you’re right in an argument, but will our guests get the answer they’re hoping for when they share awkward real-life scenarios with comedians who pull no punches in delivering judgements? Our new format has found the perfect home at Comedy Central, and the perfect host in the incomparable Jimmy Carr, and is guaranteed to deliver bucketloads of brutally honest, hilarious a**holery.”

Iestyn Barker, Commissioner for Comedy Central UK, added: “We’re thrilled to have Jimmy Carr back on Comedy Central UK, in charge of sorting right from wrong in this hilarious and no-holds-barred show that will leave viewers open-mouthed with stories of ridiculous and questionable behaviour.”

The series will be filmed in late spring and is due to air later this year on Comedy Central UK.
