PREVIEW: A Teacher, BBC Two

Drama telling the story of an illicit affair between a high-school teacher and a student.

Episode One

English teacher Claire Wilson arrives for her first term at Westerbrook High quietly but full of enthusiasm. Dissatisfied in her marriage and seemingly unable to discuss it with husband Matt, she finds herself attracted to Eric Walker, one of her students, and considers an inappropriate relationship that could have crushing consequences for them both.

Episode Two

When a party at Logan’s house is broken up by the cops, Eric thinks fast and asks for a favour from Claire. In the first of many failures of judgement, Claire agrees to help, privately knowing that sharing this secret will bring the two of them closer together. Claire struggles to be honest with herself about it, but she is moving Eric closer to crossing a boundary she knows they should not cross.

A Teacher begins Sunday 3rd January on BBC Two.
