BBC CONFIRM JANUARY LAUNCH SCHEDULE, NEW AND RETURNING PROGRAMMES

BBC have confirmed its schedule for the first full week of January, with new and returning programmes launching all week.



THE WEAKEST LINK

Saturday 4th January, 7:35pm

Made by BBC Studios Entertainment, another all-star line-up of celebrity contestants will attempt to win up to £50,000 for charity by answering general knowledge questions before only two remain and play head to head to determine the winner.



CALL THE MIDWIFE

Sunday 5th January, 8pm

It's March 1970. The team support a pregnant teenage girl whose parents believe in an immaculate conception. Demonstrations cause havoc for the Nonnatus team, whilst Nancy’s relationship blossoms.


THE TRAVELLING AUCTIONEERS

Monday 6th January, 4:30pm

Research, restore and ready for sale! An intrepid team of antiques experts and master crafters help families turn unwanted items into winning lots.


SILENT WITNESS

Monday 6th January, 9pm

The new series opens with a disturbing mystery, when the death of an elderly woman found in a cave has the team asking what drives a person to murder someone so vulnerable. We also get an introduction to the two dynamic new team members.



INSIDE THE FACTORY

Tuesday 7th January, 8pm

New host Paddy McGuinness is joining fellow presenters Cherry Healey and historian Ruth Goodman for this ninth run of the series. They explore the science and innovation behind some of the products, and uncover some incredible hidden stories behind their invention.


THE REPAIR SHOP

Wednesday 8th January, 8pm

Confronted with a contraption that has clearly seen better days, a daunted Dominic Chinea is taking on the barn’s first assignment. All the way from Scotland, brothers Lewis and Ross have wheeled in their family’s mobile ice cream trailer.


THE TRAITORS

Series continues Wednesday 8th January, 9pm

In this nail-biting award winning, reality series, Claudia Winkleman greets a group of strangers as they arrive at a beautiful castle in the Scottish Highlands to play the ultimate game of detection, backstabbing and trust, in the hope of winning up to £120,000. DIGGING FOR BRITAIN

Tuesday 7th January, 8pm, BBC Two

Episode one sees Alice Roberts travel through the East of Britain to the area’s most exciting archaeological digs. Alice joins archaeologists digging an astonishing Anglo-Saxon cemetery in rural Kent. Every grave is filled with exceptionally well-preserved and rare objects, including a complete Anglo-Saxon sword.



WOULD I LIE TO YOU
