BBC REVEALS APRIL PROGRAMMING HIGHLIGHTS, NEW AND RETURNING TITLES

BBC have revealed the new and returning titles launching on BBC One and iPlayer during April 2025.



Doctor Who

Like many Doctors who have come before him, one is not enough for the Fifteenth Doctor and in season two, he will have two companions by his side as Varada Sethu steps aboard the TARDIS. Audiences join The Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) and Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu) on an epic quest to get Belinda back to Earth. But a mysterious force is stopping their return and the time-travelling TARDIS team must face great dangers, ferocious enemies and wilder terrors than ever before.



This City Is Ours

The story of Michael, a man who for all of his adult life has been involved in organised crime, working for his friend and the gang leader Ronnie. When Ronnie begins to hint at retirement, Michael too begins to imagine another life. Because, for the first time in his life, Michael is in love. For the first time in his life, he sees beyond the day-to-day, he sees a future: something to win and something to lose - Diana.


Beyond Paradise

The team faces a host of baffling cases in the upcoming series, including a body discovered in a river on the county border, a perplexing chocolate box poisoning, a long-standing farming feud, and a spiking incident at sea.



Away from the police station, Martha and Humphrey must overcome unexpected hurdles as foster parents, while the reappearance of Martha’s old flame Archie presents an unexpected challenge. Meanwhile, Esther experiences a surprising twist in her personal life, Anne confronts painful memories following a health scare, and Kelby embarks on a transformative journey of self-discovery.


Race Across The World

The BBC’s epic, hugely successful and much-loved BAFTA-award winning series returns. Leaving behind their smartphones, internet access and bank cards, the race will test the five teams like never before, pushing them to both their physical and emotional limits. But with their feet on the ground, and their eyes wide open the rewards will be great, and the memories will be everlasting. Only one team can emerge victorious as they all vie to be first and claim the cash prize of £20,000.



Blankety Blank

Once again be hosted by the incomparable Bradley Walsh, who will guide a panel of celebrities and contestants over multiple rounds, as they compete to win a range of…unique prizes! Whilst viewers can prepare to meet some new celebrity faces, they can also look forward to once more hearing the signature theme tune, seeing the iconic Blankety cheque book and pen, and as always expect a lot of laughs for the whole family.


Have I Got News For You

New seirs which will see Ian Hislop, Paul Merton and a who's who of hosts welcome a gaggle of guest panellists to find the funny in the week's big stories.
