BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT WON'T RETURN FOR THEMED SPECIAL THIS YEAR

TV Zone understands Britain's Got Talent will not be returning for another themed special this year, despite reported earlier in the year suggesting Simon Cowell was eyeing up an animal-themed special.

It was reported by The Sun earlier this year that Cowell was keen for a one-off special focusing on animal acts following last year's Ultimate Magician special which was hosted by Stephen Mulhern.

A source told The Sun at the time: "Simon has long been a fan of the animal acts on Britain’s Got Talent so nobody was surprised when the notion of a furry friends special was raised... There’s a couple of ideas on the table but the animals are leading the way at the moment."

The Ultimate Magician, which was hosted by Stephen Mulhern, saw the world’s most memorable and greatest magicians from past series of Got Talent compete to become the ultimate champion of magic and win a huge £50,000 cash prize.

The multi-award winning talent spectacular will return next year with newest judge Bruno Tonioli returning to the judging panel alongside Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon, all with their infamous buzzers.

Britain's Got Talent returns Spring 2024 on ITV1 and ITVX.
