BIG SOAP QUIZ: SALLY LINDSAY TO HOST ITV SPECIAL THIS CHRISTMAS

Sally Lindsay has been revealed as this year's host of ITV's The Big Quiz: Emmerdale Vs Coronation Street this Christmas, TV Zone understands. She steps into the shoes of Stephen Mulhern.

Regular team captains are Jack P. Shepherd and Mark Charnock for Coronation Street and Emmerdale respectively. Previous co-stars to take part include Simon Gregson and Sair Khan, plus Karen Blick and Jay Kontzle.

The team captains and guests taking part have not been confirmed by ITV. The quiz puts the stars of Coronation Street and Emmerdale to the test, as they are grilled on the most memorable soap moments of the past year.

It follows the recent announcement by ITV that the British Soap Awards will not take place in 2024. The broadcast says the plan for the ceremony to return to screens in 2025 after a one year break.

The British Soap Awards sees the five biggest soaps - Coronation Street, Doctors, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks - will be battling it out to win recognition for their work over the past year.

An ITV spokesperson told RadioTimes: "The British Soap Awards won't be on air in 2024 but is set to return in 2025."
