BRASSIC COMMISSIONED FOR CHRISTMAS SPECIAL ON SKY MAX

Hit comedy Brassic will return for a Christmas special later this year on Sky Max, as well as Series 5 which is to air next month.

Based on the ‘true-life’ misadventures of three-time BAFTA nominated lead actor and co-creator Joe Gilgun, the critically acclaimed Brassic has a signature blend of high comedy and emotional authenticity.

Co-created by writer Danny Brocklehurst the series regular cast includes: Michelle Keegan, Dominic West, Tom Hanson, Aaron Heffernan, Ryan Sampson, Parth Thakerar, Bronagh Gallagher, Joanna Higson and Steve Evets. Fans can watch out for surprise new cast members and unexpected cameo appearances in Brassic season 5 this September.

Back for more, Sky introduces an entire weekend dedicated to its biggest original comedy, Brassic! This bank holiday fans can catch up on all four series of Brassic before the new fifth season debuts in September.

During the Weekender fans will be given an eagerly anticipated look at Brassic 5, with the launch of its trailer and an exclusive behind-the-scenes short. The show was recently nominated for a National Television Award for best Comedy.

The award will be presented at the glittering ceremony taking place in London on 5 September with Brassic cast in attendance. This nomination follows, Brassic success at this year’s Royal Television Society Programme Awards where the series won the inaugural comedy-drama award.

As well as the series 5 trailer, an exclusive new behind the scenes Sky Zero short will be available on demand during the Weekender. This behind-the-scenes look features everyone’s favourite grouch, Farmer Jim (Steve Evets), core gang members Cardi (Tom Hanson) and Erin (Michelle Keegan), as well as Jim’s nemesis and neighbour Shirley Paslowski (Archie Kelly). Every episode of Brassic will be shown during the Brassic Weekender on Sky Max, 26-28 August, before the return of series five in September.
