THE BRITISH SOAP AWARDS WILL RETURN TO ITV IN 2025 AFTER HIATUS

The British Soap Awards will return to ITV in 2025 after a year on hiatus, The Sun reports.

The British Soap Awards sees the five biggest soaps - Coronation Street, Doctors, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks - will be battling it out to win recognition for their work over the past year.

Some of the biggest faces from all five soaps hit the red carpet for the most star-studded and glamorous event in the soap calendar, celebrating all things Soaps - with star guests gracing the stage, looking back at explosive stunts and all those soap storylines that gripped the nation over the past year.

Last Autumn ITV announced the award ceremony had been put on hiatus and will not air this year. It followed the departure of host Phillip Schofield last, who was replaced by Jane McDonald for the 2023 ceremony.

A source told The Sun: "Bosses know we’re a nation of soap lovers and The British Soap Awards is the biggest and best award ceremony for soap fans. It’s been sorely missed this year, so everyone’s pleased it’s coming back for 2025...

"It’s still very early stages, so there’s been no conversations about a host or location as yet, but execs and viewers were impressed with Jane as the host last year."

The British Soap Awards air on ITV1 and ITVX.
