BULLSEYE: LUKE LITTLER JOINS ITV REBOOT OF CLASSIC GAMESHOW FOR CHRISTMAS SPECIAL

Freddie Flintoff is to host a rebooted version of classic gameshow Bullseye for ITV, which will begin with a one-off Christmas special later this year.

Bullseye is one of the UK’s most successful and best loved family game shows and in this brand new Christmas special each playing team will be made up of an amateur dart player, known as the ‘thrower’, and their team partner, the ’knower’.

They will combine their skills, throwing darts at different game boards, whilst answering questions correctly for ‘points and prizes’. The one-off Christmas special, which will air later this year on ITV1 and ITVX, will be produced by 12 Yard Productions.

The Sun have revealed that teenage Darts sensation Luke Littler has joined the show as a special guest player who will throw to raise money for charity. A source told the newspaper: "As he steps up to the Bullseye oche he knows he’s following in the footsteps of legends including Eric Bristow and Jocky Wilson who all threw darts on the programme in its 1980s heyday."

Freddie Flintoff said "I love the darts and Bullseye was one of my favourite shows as a kid. I can’t quite believe I’ll get to host this Christmas special. You can’t beat a bit of Bully!"

Michael Mannes, Managing Director at 12 Yard commented: "We are delighted to have acquired the rights to Bullseye, one of the most iconic game shows ever. And the timing could not be better considering the popularity of darts. Freddie is the perfect host for it and we can’t wait for the show to be back on ITV."

Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment & Daytime Commissioning at ITV added: "Bullseye is back and we can’t wait to welcome Freddie Flintoff back to ITV too. It’s a real treat to have both as key parts of our Christmas schedule on ITV1 and ITVX this year."

More details will be announced in due course.
