CHANNEL 5 REVIVE C4'S WATERCOLOUR CHALLENGE

Channel 5 revive previous Channel 4 daytime format Watercolour Challenge for a new 20-part series.

Fern Britton takes over from original host Hannah Gordon. The series sees amateur artists compete to capture the beauty of Britain with watercolours. Each week, they are judged by a guest professional artist who then selects a winner to appear in a regional final.

Dan Adamson, Managing Director, Twofour, said: “Watercolour Challenge remains one of the most loved daytime titles and we’re absolutely delighted to be working with the team at C5 to bring it back for their audience. With Fern Britton hosting from some of the most beautiful parts of the country we really hope it’s as well received as the original series was.”

Guy Davies, Commissioning Editor (VP) Factual Channel 5, added: “Watercolour Challenge is a feelgood classic and it’s high time to bring it back as part of Channel 5’s strengthening of daytime. This last year has seen more of us than ever before picking up the paint brushes and getting creative”

Watercolour Challenge will air later this year on Channel 5.
