DANCING ON ICE: CELEBRITY SKATING COMPETITION FACING UNCERTAIN FUTURE ON ITV
Dancing On Ice is reportedly facing an uncertain future, with ITV yet to recommission the series for next year and reports suggesting the show is 'facing the axe'.

Hosted by Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern, this year's series concludes next weekend (Sunday 9th March) with former footballer Anton Ferdinand, broadcaster Michaela Strachan and Coronation Street's Sam Aston competing for the trophy.
Following falling ratings, reports from The Mirror newspaper follow up on the long-standing rumours that ITV are set to rest the show once more, have previously axed the show in 2014 before rebooting it in 2018. Traditionally, ITV confirm the following year's series during the live final of each series.
A source told The Mirror: "There are very real fears this is the end of the road for Dancing on Ice. It’s had a good run for nearly 20 years and has a very loyal set of viewers who really love it but the sad truth is there’s just not enough of them. We need bums on seats but the ratings have dropped to a point where it’s difficult to justify the cost."

An ITV spokesperson told TV Zone: "The Dancing on Ice team is fully concentrating on the much anticipated series finale this coming Sunday and therefore no decision has been made."
There's also a chance ITV will give the show as send-off with a final series next year, which would also mark 20 years since the skating competition first aired in 2006. Either way, it looks like the show could be nearing an end...
This year's Dancing On Ice is available to stream now on ITVX.
