DEAL OR NO DEAL CONFIRMED FOR SECOND SERIES WITH STEPHEN MULHERN FOLLOWING SUCCESSFUL REBOOT ON ITV

Deal Or No Deal will return for a second series this Autumn on ITV1 following its successful reboot last year, host Stephen Mulhern has confirmed.

The series, which saw the format move from Channel 4 to ITV, launched with an overwhelmingly positive reaction and impressive viewing figures - often posting 2.4m across its run.

Stephen Mulhern told The Sun: "We start to film for Deal or No Deal again at the end of June, we've done our first series and ITV has already commissioned it for a second series and it starts in September."

The format sees contestants battle it out against the notorious Banker to be in with a chance of winning a life-changing cash prize of up to £100,000, in a nail-biting game of nerves and intuition. 

Each episode, a contestant is confronted with 22 sealed boxes, each one hiding a different amount of money. Without knowing what each one contains, the contestant must eliminate the boxes, which are opened one at a time, and the amount of money inside is revealed. 

Pressure mounts as the player is tempted by the notorious Banker to accept an offer of cash in exchange for what might be inside their box. As long as the larger cash prizes remain unchosen, the Banker’s offers will get higher. But that can all change in an instant if a big cash prize is unveiled.

Deal or No Deal first launched in 2002 in the Netherlands. It has been commissioned in over 80 territories worldwide with more than 350 productions. The original UK series was hosted by Noel Edmonds and aired on Channel 4. Deal or No Deal is a Banijay-owned format.
