NOEL FIELDING'S MADE-UP ADVENTURES OF DICK TURPIN AXED MID-PRODUCTION
Noel Fielding's The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin has reportedly been axed midway through production on its second series, The Sun newspaper reports.
The tabloid newspaper reports that Fielding "failed to come to work" after production resumed following the Christmas break, with filming originally commencing last Autumn. The Sun reports that crew were told production was suspended due to "the illness of a key cast member".
A source told The Sun: "Naturally, the rumour mill is in overtime as to what has happened with Noel, but it must have been very serious to axe the whole show. In most circumstances execs will at least consider pausing filming, but for some reason they decided to throw in the towel before the situation got any worse."
In the first series Dick Turpin (Noel Fielding) sets out on a journey of wildly absurd escapades when he’s made the reluctant leader of a band of outlaws — and tasked with outwitting corrupt lawman and self-appointed thief-taker Jonathan Wilde (Hugh Bonneville).
Noel Fielding starred as Dick Turpin, the legendary British highwayman. In this irreverent retelling, Dick is the most famous, but least likely of highway robbers, whose success is defined mostly by his charm, showmanship and great hair.
Together with his gang of loveable rogues, Dick rides the highs and lows of celebrity — and does what he can to escape the clutches of the Thief Taker General.
Guest stars across the first series include Hugh Bonneville, Greg Davies, Jessica Hynes, Paul Kaye, Guz Khan, Diane Morgan, Connor Swindells, Laura Checkley, David Threlfall and Colin Hoult.
The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin is available now on Apple TV+.
