5 EXPLORE THE DRUNK AND DISORDERLY AT 30,000 FEET FOR SPECIAL PROGRAMME

5 have announced the commissioned of Drunk And Disorderly: At 30,000 Feet, a new documentary which investigates the rise in alcohol-related incidents in the skies. The programme is produced by Spirit Studios.

The one hour programme is narrated by Richard Arnold and explores the chaos of mid-air aggressive confrontations and behaviour cause by alcohol, and also the way the aviation industry may be contributing to the issue. It will include accounts from passengers, crew, insiders and travel specialists.

Matt Campion, Creative Director at Spirit Studios, said: “We’re delighted to be working with 5 for the first time on such a relevant and eye-opening project. While mid-air meltdowns have become viral sensations on social media, this documentary goes beyond the headlines to uncover the deeper causes – some of which may be uncomfortably close to home for the aviation industry. We hope it will make viewers think twice before heading to the duty-free bar before a flight.”

Federico Ruiz, Commissioning Editor 5 & Paramount +said: “Taking the family abroad and boarding one of these flights is the stuff of nightmares. This shocking documentary will make you want to drive to your holiday destination or cancel it altogether.”

Drunk and Disorderly: At 30,000 Feet will air on 5 later this year.
