DOCTOR WHO CONFIRMS YASMIN FINNEY'S CHARACTER

To celebrate the birthday of Yasmin Finney, the official Doctor Who social media channels today exclusively reveal that she will make her Doctor Who debut as Rose Noble, the daughter of Donna Noble (played by Catherine Tate) and Shaun Temple (played by Karl Collins).

When we last saw Donna, the Doctor had to wipe her memory. So the question is, what happens when Rose meets one of her mum’s oldest friends? It is a mystery for now, but what we do know is that just like her mother, Rose stumbles across something alien and from that point her seemingly ordinary family is never quite the same.

Yasmin Finney could be appearing in Series 14 of Doctor Who, Russell T. Davies has seemingly revealed in the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine. The BBC declined to comment further or give clarification when approached by TV Zone.

Writing in the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine, showrunner Russell T. Davies spoke about the last days of filming on Series 14. He revealed that Yasmin Finney was on set and "wrapped a few days ago" - seemingly confirming she was filming scenes for Series 14, however he did not give any further details or clarification.

This is not been confirmed by the BBC, who declined to comment further when approached by TV Zone.

She will return to the show in Series 14 opposite Ncuti Gatwa's Fifteenth Doctor and Millie Gibson's Ruby Sunday. Writing in the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine, Russell T. Davies revealed that Finney wrapped filming in July - possibly hinting she will star in the series finale.

Speaking of joining Doctor Who last year, Yasmin said: “If anyone would have told 8 year old Yasmin that one day she’d be part of this iconic show, I would have never in a million years believed them...

“This show has a place in so many people’s hearts, so to be seen as a trans actress by the legend himself Russell, has not only made my year, it’s made my life. I cannot wait to begin this journey and for you all to see how Rose blossoms. Get Ready.”

Russell T Davies, Showrunner, added at the time: “Life on Doctor Who gets brighter and wilder, how can there be another Rose? You’ll find out in 2023, but it’s an absolute joy to welcome Yasmin to the Doctor Who set. We all fell in love with her in Heartstopper, one of those shows which changes the world - and now Yasmin can change the Whoniverse!”

Doctor Who returns this November on BBC One and iPlayer [UK].
