The Disney+ Original documentary film will look back at Flintoff's incredible life and cricketing career that saw him win two Ashes series with England and become a national sporting hero, whilst charting his life today and return to cricket following his life-altering car crash in 2022.

Award-winning director John Dower has been granted exclusive access to Freddie over the last year to film his recovery and document his cricketing career.

The Original documentary film is executive produced by Andrew Mackenzie and Naomi Templeton for South Shore, Freddie Flintoff and executive produced for Disney+ by Sean Doyle, Executive Director, Unscripted, Disney+.

In December 2022, Freddie Flintoff was involved in a serious accident at Top Gear's production base at Surrey’s Dunsfold Aerodrome. Following the accident he was airlifted to hospital with "facial injuries and broken ribs" and was "psychologically traumatised", according to reports.

Filming on Top Gear never resumed, with the BBC confirming in November 2023 that the motoring show would be "rested" for the foreseeable future. The BBC added: "We know resting the show will be disappointing news for fans, but it is the right thing to do."

Former cricketer Freddie returned to screens this Summer with the long awaited second series of his Field Of Dreams on BBC One. After transforming a cricket club and the lives of teenagers in his hometown of Preston, Freddie and the boys were back with a new series.

Earlier this Autumn ITV announced Flintoff is to host a revival of Bullseye as part of the broadcaster's Christmas schedule. The one-off will see each playing team made up of an amateur dart player, known as the ‘thrower’, and their team partner, the ’knower’. They will combine their skills, throwing darts at different game boards, whilst answering questions correctly for ‘points and prizes’.

More details will be announced in due course.
