Gladiators, the most exciting and iconic sports entertainment show, returns to BBC One for a second series after the success of the first series which quickly gripped the nation and consolidated to near 10 million viewers.
Once again hosted by father and son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh, the show will see the Gladiators competing against a brave set of contenders in the ultimate test of speed and strength. They will take part in a series of brand-new games alongside classic challenges including fan-favourite The Eliminator.
Returning to the arena are all sixteen Gladiators from the first series who quickly became household names - Sabre, Legend, Nitro, Diamond, Phantom, Athena, Bionic, Fire, Giant, Dynamite, Viper, Electro, Apollo, Comet, Steel and Fury.
Plus, two new Gladiators will join the crew as they compete against Contenders in iconic events such as Duel and Powerball, culminating in the iconic Eliminator. They are Cyclone and Hammer. Meet Cyclone and Hammer below...
CYCLONE
23-year-old Cyclone is an Irish Powerlifter and at 5 foot 10 considers herself the ultimate all-round athlete. Cyclone says “I’ve got the look, I’ve got the energy and I’ve got the muscles.”
HAMMER
Hammer is a 32-year-old World Rowing Champion from Nottingham. At 6 foot 5, Hammer claims that the combination of his strength and speed, at the height and size that he is, is rare and sets him apart from everyone else. Hammer says “When you’ve got 19 stone sprinting at you, you’ve got no chance. I’m getting you.”
Gladiators returns Saturday 18th January at 5:50pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
