ITV TO EXPLORE THE SINKING OF A SUPERYACHT IN NEW DOCUMENTARY

ITV have become a funding partner for a new hour-long documentary 'The Sinking of A Superyacht: How Safe is Your Voyage?', which will explore the last month's sinking of the superyacht Bayesian, owned by Mike Lynch.

The sinking resulted in the death of seven people - including Lynch - and this documentary will hear from rescuers, investigators and yacht designers to explore the possibly implications for future passengers on yachts and cruises.

Emporium Productions founder and managing director Emma Read said that the doc has “secured privileged access to the people who were witness to the Bayesian tragedy and world leading experts to tell this compelling story of an extreme event.”

Emporium Productions had previously been behind fast turnaround doc Turbulence: How Safe is Your Flight, which also secured a greenlight via international funding and was boarded by ITV as an acquisition. Read added that the team is “thrilled that they’ve repeated this successful approach, [with Silverlining Rights] pulling together the financing we need in just five days”.
