Later… with Jools Holland returns to BBC Two tonight - the first of two new six-part series to air over the coming months, keeping viewers supplied with live musical performances as challenging times continue.

In this first episode, filmed at Jools’ creative home - his unique South London recording studio - Jools welcomes a very special guest, who will talk him through their own musical journey, loves and influences, illustrated by classic clips from the extensive Later… archive. Plus, there will be more unique performances, created especially for the show, as Jools continues to delve in to the world of new music.
The series will feature new performances from both established artists and emerging musicians, continuing the eclectic mix the show is famed for.
Last year saw the highest average audience for Later… with Jools Holland in over 10 years and featured new performances from artists including Fontaines D.C., Jacob Collier and Laura Marling. This new series of Later… follows the success of Jools’ Annual Hootenanny on New Year’s Eve 2020, which attracted 4.56 million viewers - the highest audience for the show on record.
