LUCY WORSLEY INVESTIGATES RETURNS TO BBC TWO FOR NEW SERIES

Lucy Worsley will return to BBC Two with a brand new series of Lucy Worsley Investigates, again examining cases in forensic details and following evidence to uncover witnesses, victims, heroes and villains.

In the next series, Worsley will look into the Gunpowder Plot, Bloody Mary, Jack the Ripper and the legacy of William the Conqueror’s invasion of 1066. Transmission details for the series will be announced in due course.

Lucy Worsley said: "I just can’t wait to get investigating again! This series combines some of the juiciest episodes from British history with a real deep dive into the work historians do, interrogating the sources. I’ve learned so much from visiting the places where history happened and talking to experts about their work. And I know from series one that our viewers loved that too."

Abigail Priddle, Creative Director BBC Studios Specialist Factual Productions, says: "Working with Lucy is a constant reminder to look beyond what you think you might know about these famous, even infamous, historical moments. We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Lucy again as she brings fresh perspectives and new revelations to the audience, showing how alive and relevant the past still is today."

Simon Young, Head of Commissioning, History, added: "After the stand-out success of the first series on BBC Two and iPlayer, it wasn’t a very hard commissioning decision to rejoin Lucy and the BBC Studios team on another trip back in time to explore some of the most extraordinary, iconic and misunderstood moments in British history."

Lucy Worsley Investigates is a 4x60’ series for BBC Two, BBC iPlayer and PBS.
