Vicki Young has been announced as the new presenter of Politics Live. Vicki is well known to audiences as the BBC’s Deputy Political Editor, a role she has held since 2020, and brings her impressive experience presenting and covering UK politics to the weekday politics show.

Vicki Young says: “I’m delighted to join Politics Live as its next presenter at a time when political events, here and abroad, are of huge interest to our audiences. I’ll be discussing all the key issues with our panellists and politicians, giving them their say of course, but holding them to account too as I know Politics Live viewers expect.
“I want to give a special mention to my friend and talented colleague Jo Coburn. It’s a privilege to follow in her footsteps.”
Hilary O’Neill, Executive Editor, Politics, says: “Vicki’s depth of political expertise and ability to communicate complex stories with clarity is a perfect fit for Politics Live. She is already well-known to UK audiences and we look forward to viewers getting to know her further.”
Richard Burgess, Director of News Content, says: “Audiences tune in to Politics Live for analysis and insight on the issues that matter most to them. Vicki brings decades of journalistic experience and a wealth of knowledge about Westminster that she can draw on to guide viewers through the biggest political stories of the day.”
