Get ready for the ultimate make-up battle as Glow Up returns, hosted by the fabulous Leomie Anderson. Over the course of eight episodes, the talented, aspiring MUAs will be judged for their creativity and technical mastery by industry legends Val Garland and Dominic Skinner.

Each week, they’ll compete in intense Industry Assignments, testing their ability to thrive under real world pressure, from runway make-up to music videos, and West End theatre looks to beauty campaigns and special effects make-up for TV.
At Glow Up Studios, the MUAs will be pushed to the limits of their artistry and imagination in the creative briefs. The two who fail to impress will fight for survival in the nail-biting Face-Off Elimination, a taxing technical battle carried out on a pair of identical twins.
Ten talented MUAs start the competition, but only one will emerge victorious, landing a contract to assist leading make-up artists worldwide and securing the coveted title of Britain’s Next Make-Up Star. For their first assignment, the ten fresh-faced MUAs are booked to create runway looks for avant-garde designer HARRI, best known for Sam Smith’s show-stopping latex look at the 2023 Brit Awards.
Under the watchful eye of legendary key make-up artist Isamaya Ffrench, the MUAs must recreate a technically challenging look to perfection in just 90 minutes.
For many of the MUAs, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. But with a VIP audience at a high-profile fashion show to impress, the stakes have never been higher. For one MUA, the pressure becomes too much, and Isamaya is forced to step in and rescue their look.
The next day at Glow Up Studios, the make-up artists face their first Creative Brief: they must create a mind-blowing and unforgettable look inspired by their most influential characteristic. Before getting started, the MUAs are amazed to discover that their guest judge is pioneering influencer Patricia Bright, who throws down the gauntlet to them.
Keen to make their mark in the competition, the make-up artists pull off some truly breathtaking looks, including a blue and white cosmic creation inspired by spirituality, a swamp creature with parasitic worms escaping every orifice, and a monochromatic ink blot that totally transforms under UV light.
After the Creative Brief, the two MUAs who impressed the least must take part in the first Face-Off Elimination of the year. The challenge: to pull off a tricky, negative space eyeliner in just 15 minutes. But only one of them can make it through to next week.
Glow Up returns Wednesday 30th April at 8pm on BBC Three.
