Gary Lineker introduces highlights from the opening seven games of the new Premier League season, including Liverpool’s trip to Suffolk to face newly promoted Ipswich.

The Tractor Boys are back in the top flight after a 22-year absence, with their fortunes transformed under 38-year-old boss Kieran McKenna, who has led them to consecutive promotions from League One and the Championship. But they face a huge step-up in class against Liverpool, who will be playing their first competitive game since Arne Slot replaced Jurgen Klopp as manager.

Other matches include Arsenal versus Wolves and West Ham against Aston Villa, while there are also highlights from Friday’s clash between Manchester United and Fulham.

Next weekend, Gary Lineker presents highlights from the day’s seven Premier League matches, which include newly promoted Ipswich Town making the trip to champions Manchester City.

Kieran McKenna’s side have enjoyed successive promotions in the last two seasons, finishing runners-up in the Championship in 2023/24 on 96 points, but they face a tough task here against a City team who made history in May when they became the first men’s team ever to win four top-flight titles in a row.

Elsewhere, there’s an intriguing battle between Aston Villa and Arsenal, as well as highlights of Manchester United’s trip to Brighton and Tottenham’s home clash with Everton.
