Neil And Martin’s Bon Voyage | Preview (U&Gold)

In this new three-part U&Originals series, Neil Morrissey takes his dear friend and Men Behaving Badly co-star Martin Clunes on an adventure through some of southern France’s most beautiful regions, a place Neil now calls his second home.

Across the three-part series, the duo canoe down the Dordogne River, descend deep into magnificent underground caves, and go cycling through the vineyards of Bordeaux, naturally sampling a drop or two of fine wine along the way. In Biarritz, they fish for tuna off the coast and participate in the bizarre world of the “corn Olympics” before scaling the dizzying heights of the Pyrenees.

In Camargue, they ride horses across the marshy salt flats before stopping off in Toulouse for some Michelin-starred dining. But the question on everyone’s lips will be: have these (slightly older) men grown up at all over the years, or will they still be behaving just as badly?

In the first episode, Neil Morrissey and Martin Clunes celebrate 40 years of friendship on a bespoke road trip through southern France. In the first episode, the boys reunite at Neil’s French home, before heading to one of France’s deepest wine cellars along the Dordogne River and on to the vineyards of Bordeaux, ending their day atop Europe’s largest sand dune.

Neil Morrissey said: “It’s fantastic we have this golden opportunity to reunite so I can introduce my pal Martin to all the things I love so much about France, along with some Gallic treasures I’ve always wanted to see. I’ve fallen in love with this country, its glorious food, its delicious wine, and knowing Martin has an EU passport, I’m fairly certain he’ll be relocating here once I’ve finished with him.”

Martin Clunes said: “I’m really looking forward to all the sights, sounds, tastes, people and experiences Neil’s lined up for me in France. Most of all I’m looking forward to spending a great deal of time with my old mate Neil, who I’ve grown to miss more than ever since he’s absconded to a country which he claims has the best scenery, food and wine on earth – is he right? I intend to find out by devouring the lot of it and seeing what I can remember afterwards.”
