Sarah Beeny's New Life In The Country | Series 4 Preview (Channel 4)
Sarah Beeny’s New Life In The Country (8x60’) follows Sarah, her husband Graham Swift and their four sons as they quit their lives in London to start anew in what they hope will be a rural idyll.
The family has bought a semi-derelict former dairy farm in Somerset where, surrounded by 220 acres of farmland, they’re planning on building the house of their dreams; a modern, carbon neutral mini stately home. Sarah and Graham also have ambitious plans to landscape the grounds as well as rewild sections of the farm.
In the new series, Sarah and her family decide to build a thatched boathouse on their edge of their pond, taking inspiration from the historic boathouses down the River Thames.
After completing the walls, the whole family pitch in to thatch the roof, before Graham adds a final flourish with carvings the boys made in their workshop. The boys also discover a novel way of cooking breakfast al fresco by making a Swedish torch from a log.
Sarah Beeny's New Life In The Country returns Saturday 4th January at 5:10pm on Channel 4.
