The Dog House | Series 7 Preview (Channel 4)

The Dog House will return for more matchmaking at Woodgreen Pets Charity. The team continue their mission to find homes for their abandoned dogs - but Woodgreen's perfectly imperfect pooches are a little unpredictable.

The stories take place in an arena into which humans bring their hopes and histories, and open up their lives to a new four-legged friend who they hope will make their lives happier. And in which dogs find the care they have – up to now – been denied.

Wood Green, The Animals Charity in Cambridgeshire takes in hundreds of discarded, disowned or neglected dogs every year. The series will follow the 60 strong team who work to counter the worst of our throw-away society, and witness stories of canine rescue and restoral.

Their ultimate goal is to find each dog a forever home and a new human to love - but finding the right person for each dog takes experience, insight into human behaviour and a bit of luck.

Using fixed rig cameras, Five Mile Films will follow the dogs, from the moment they arrive at Wood Green, through to the matches, and all being well – into their new homes. And track their human saviours every step of the way along their parallel journey.

In the first episode of the new series, glamorous poodle-cross Lola needs to live up to five-year-old Violet's idea of what a dog should look like, while Frankie the Chihuahua plays it cool when he meets best friends Paulette and Jackie.

There's a double date in store as Welsh couple Liam and Tabitha meet two very different dogs - Barley the bouncy labradoodle and cuddly Staffie puppy Peanut. However, sparks fly between the two hounds, and it falls to Tabitha to have the final say.

The Dog House returns Thursday 30th January at 8pm on Channel 4.
