RATINGS REPORT: 23-29 DECEMBER 2024

Gavin & Stacey: The Finale aired on Christmas Day to an official audience of 19,110,000, by far the most-watched programme of the year. Not too far behind was Wallace & Gromit Vengeance Most Fowl with 16,288,000.



Outside the two juggernauts, Outnumbered returned for a special on Boxing Day to 7,411,00. Doctor Who aired its annual Christmas offering to 5,911,000 and Call The Midwife aired two Christmas specials to 7,614,000 and 6,522,000 respectively. Mrs Brown's Boys' annual special was watched by 3,875,000.


In entertainment, Strictly Come Dancing's Christmas special was watched by 5,360,000, The 1% Club was ITV's biggest hitter with 4,616,000, The Masked Singer unmasked 3,484,000, The Wheel concluded with 3,455,000, The Weakest Link's Christmas Day special by 3,235,000, Bake Off's Christmas special by 3,043,000 and Channel 4's Big Fat Quiz Of The Year by 3,012,000.



In drama, Beyond Paradise was watched by 5,180,000, The Split returned with 5,152,000 on Sunday night and Strike continued with 4,922,000 and 4,543,000 respectively and Casualty returned to 3,119,000. On Channel 5, All Creatures Great & Small was watched by 3,371,000.


EastEnders was split into two parts on Christmas Day, watched by 5,484,000 and 5,577,000 respectively. Coronation Street's highest rating episode of the week was Monday 23rd with 4,602,000. Emmerdale's biggest episode was also Monday night with 3,830,000.
