RED EYE: MARTIN COMPSTON TO LEAD SECOND SERIES OF ITV THRILLER, RETURNING CAST ANNOUNCED

ITV1 and ITVX’s propulsive thriller Red Eye, produced by Bad Wolf and written by Peter A Dowling, is due to commence filming with Jing Lusi reprising her role as DS Hana Li alongside new guest star, Martin Compston.

With a new conspiracy to solve in the highly pressurised world of Red Eye, Lesley Sharp and Jemma Moore also reprise their roles as Head of MI5 Madeline Delaney and journalist Jess Li. Commented Jing Lusi: “I'm incredibly excited to return to the world of Red Eye, and thrilled to be sharing this rollercoaster with the brilliant Martin Compston.”

Martin Compston added: “I’m delighted to be joining the Red Eye team. Hoping to build on the massive success of the first series and give viewers another thrilling ride.” Red Eye 2 consists of six new episodes written and created by Peter A Dowling (Black and Blue, Flightplan), with Jingan Young returning to write an episode. 

The drama is produced by Wales based independent production company Bad Wolf, who are the producers of Doctor Who, Industry, The Winter King, His Dark Materials, I Hate Suzie, and A Discovery of Witches. Forthcoming productions include Dope Girls, The War Between The Land and The Sea and The Other Bennet Sister. Bad Wolf is the Sony Pictures Television-backed company founded in 2015 by Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner.

Red Eye Series 1

Award-winning producer Julie Gardner (I Hate Suzie, Doctor Who) will executive produce the new series alongside Lachlan MacKinnon (Industry, A Discovery of Witches). Chris May (Litvinenko, Doctor Who) will produce the series. Kieron Hawkes (Power Book IV, Fortitude) will return to direct episodes 1-3, with Camilla Strøm Henriksen (Grace, The Suspect) directing episodes 4-6.
