FIRST LOOK: ROMESH RANGANATHAN'S PARENTS' EVENING COMES TO ITV SATURDAY NIGHTS
Celebrities will be teaming up with their daughters, sons, mums or dads in the show where it doesn’t matter what you know, it’s what your mother and father think you know.
Packed full of huge laughs and enormous embarrassment, the contestants’ fortunes lie in the hands of those supposed to know them the best… their parents. Likewise, Romesh will be doing his best to keep his own mum, Shanthi happy as she helps oversee proceedings and the team scores, as well as keeping Romesh in check!
In each round it’s down to the parents to determine what they think their (adult) kids know, but how well do they really know them? With a mix of list and picture questions plus buzzer rounds, the grown-up children will need to answer the questions correctly but it's their parents that will be choosing their questions - putting them in the firing line and gambling on how many they can get right.
If they meet their parent's expectations they will get the money, but fall short and the cash is split between the other teams. Whoever pockets the most cash will earn the right to play with their parent in the final round, for a chance to double their money for charity.
In a game where the parents decide everything, will their offspring meet their expectations? Who knows, but what we can promise is a night of entertainment where, just like the Parents' Evening you remember, our celebrities will suffer embarrassment, vicious grading, and a stern word in the car park after.
Celebrities taking part across the series are: Alison Hammond and son Aidan; Tony Bellew and son Corey; Joel Dommett and mum Penny; Mel B and daughter Phoenix; Jonathan Ross and daughter Honey; Carol Vorderman and son Cameron; Iain Stirling and his mum Alison; Richard Madeley and daughter Chloe plus Vicky Pattison and mum Caroll.
Romesh Ranganathan's Parents’ Evening (3x60') begins this November on ITV1.
