Sky News are to launch a primetime daily politics programme this September, hosted by Sophy Ridge live from Westminster. Sky describe the new show as "a new nightly political show that will be a fresh take on the days political story".

Sophy said: "I can’t quite believe it but this is the final ever Sophy Ridge on Sunday. The last six years have been an absolute privilege. Thank you to everyone who has watched and made it part of your Sunday routine. It’s something I have never taken for granted."

She continued: "I’m really excited to announce that I’ll be launching a new daily politics show at 7pm [on] Sky News - the Politics Hub with Sophy Ridge. If you enjoyed the Sunday show, I’d love it if you gave us a try from September. I cannot wait to get stuck in!"

Sky have confirmed that Trevor Phillips, who covered for Sophy when she was on maternity leave, will take the reins of the Sunday morning show from September. More details will be revealed in due course.
