SQUID GAME RETURNS FOR THIRD SERIES ON NETFLIX, SERIES TWO BREAKS RECORDS

On Boxing Day, the game we've all been waiting for returned to Netflix, starring Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, Gong Yoo and fresh, new players.

The new series has broken viewing records, with over 68 million worldwide views so far, which makes it the most views ever for a show in its first week and has already become Netflix's seventh most popular non-English TV show.

In the second series, three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the states and comes back with a new resolution in his mind. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won.

Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo reprise their roles from Season 1 with new cast members including Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an rounding out the ensemble of characters in the new season.

In June 2022, Squid Game was officially renewed for season 2 as Netflix and Director Hwang confirmed they will once again team up for a whole new round. The scripted drama Squid Game holds the record as Netflix’s most popular series of all time, with over 1.65 billion view hours in the first 28 days after its September 2021 premiere.

Squid Game will return on 26th December for its second series, followed by its third and final series in 2025 - only on Netflix.
