SUPERMARKET SWEEP 'FACING THE AXE' AFTER TWO SERIES

The daytime gameshow sees three pairs of shoppers go wild in the aisles as they compete in the ultimate supermarket challenge to win a £3,000 prize.

ITV first rebooted the iconic gameshow in 2019, with new presenter Rylan Clark-Neal, for ITV2. In 2020, it was promoted to ITV Daytime where is ran for five weeks and six celebrity specials.

There are now reports that its future is at risk. Whether or not it's formally been axed, it is unlikely to return this year due to presenter Rylan Clark-Neal taking a break for personal reasons, and his upcoming commitments to Strictly It Takes Two this Autumn.

A source told the Daily Star On Sunday: "Supermarket Sweep is such an iconic and well-loved format. But no show is safe in the current climate. Its future is hanging in the balance and it’s not looking good. A final decision is expected in the next few months."

Some previous episodes of Supermarket Sweep are available to watch now on ITV Hub.
