THE 1% CLUB TO AIR SOCCER AID SPECIAL ON ITV, RETURNS FOR CHRISTMAS SPECIAL YEAR
Smash-hit gameshow The 1% Club will return this Christmas with its annual festive special. It's also been announced that a Soccer Aid special has been filmed and will air alongside the fourth series next year on ITV. The show has also been recommissioned for a fifth series.
Imagine a game show where an eight-year-old has as much chance of winning as an 80-year-old or where intelligence isn’t based on how many exams you passed, but is all about how your brain works - The 1% Club is a unique, compelling and funny gameshow that tests the nation’s intelligence, based on a scientific survey.
This primetime entertainment format is not about what you learned at school or your ability to memorise facts – it’s about real intelligence and a chance to test your brain through a series of questions that often lead to extremely entertaining answers which sees host Lee Mack interacting with the contestants.
Everyone is on a level playing field and that means that anyone can play along, making it the show for family and friends to watch together.
Lee Mack: "Let’s be honest, the fact that I haven’t accidentally given a hundred grand to the wrong person or read out the answer instead of the question is as much a surprise to me as it is to everyone else. I’m really delighted that ITV is risking me steering this ship once again. I can’t wait to discover more of the nation’s brainboxes."
A source added to The Sun: "The show has well and truly proved its popularity with viewers, and so it’s only natural to bring it back for not one, but two more rounds. This will also include two Christmas specials, which will air on ITV after the main series have run."
Previous episodes of The 1% Club are available on ITVX.
