THE ISLAND WITH TOM ALLEN SHELVED BY DAVE AFTER ONE SERIES

The Island, the new entertainment format hosted by Tom Allen, will not be returning for a second series. The first series aired on UKTV's Dave channel in Spring 2022.

The eight-part series saw comedian Tom Allen take on the role of Captain of the SS Unsinkable which has run aground! Thankfully there were four undiscovered islands ahead that the passengers can go and live on, and Sara Pascoe, Johnny Vegas, Ninia Benjamin and Ahir Shah as leaders of the islands.

The leaders must make their own personal dream desert island the best and attract the most passengers to win the series. Each week, Allen put these four islands, and their leaders to the test - who's got the best house band? How do you even judge that?

A UKTV spokesperson told TV Zone: "We’re proud of what we produced with the new format on The Island, but there are currently no plans to bring it back."

Allen was joined each week by Kemah Bob and Jason Forbes, who presented 'live' reports from the islands, to make sure nothing was missed.
