CELEBRITY TRAITORS: THE RUMOURS SO FAR AHEAD OF NEW BBC SERIES

The multi-award-winning hit psychological game format The Traitors, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, has been commissioned for a fourth series as well as a nine-part celebrity version.

The two commissions from Studio Lambert, part of All3Media, are announced ahead of the third series of the hugely popular reality competition which has already been filmed once again against the stunning backdrop of the Scottish Highlands.

Since the series debuted on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in 2022, the show has established a 100% faithful audience. A breakout hit at series one, series two saw phenomenal growth with 46m views on BBC iPlayer and an average of 8.1m views per episode. The Traitors continues to be the biggest new Entertainment brand in the market for 16-34’s.

In addition to news of a fourth series and celebrity version, leading podcast agency Listen will be producing 12 brand new episodes of companion show The Traitors: Uncloaked which will return alongside the third series of The Traitors. Once hosted again by comedian Ed Gamble, The Traitors: Uncloaked will be available via BBC Sounds and on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.

CELEBRITY RUMOURS SO FAR

Stephen Fry

A source told The Sun: "Claudia put Stephen right at the top of celebs she’d want on The Traitors and Stephen has made it clear he’d be game. Stephen is a fan of the show and Claudia was desperate for him to be in it. No contracts have been signed yet - but he told the show’s bosses to name a time and date and he’ll be there."

Clare Balding

A source told The Sun: "Clare is an absolutely brilliant signing because she’s always turned down reality offers flat. As such, this will offer the first real glimpse into what she’s like as a person."

Tom Daley

A source told The Sun: "The first series of the celebrity edition blows I’m A Celebrity and Strictly out the water, really, and Tom knows it will be hugely fun to film. He’ll make a great player too, as no one would suspect misdeeds from such a baby-faced lad."

Richard Osman

A source told The Mirror: "Richard would be a terrific signing. He reckons he knows how to commit the perfect murder, so could surely spot a Traitor from 100 paces or outsmart the others if he needs to? He also knows exactly how TV works."

Bob Mortimer

Bob told The Mirror: "I watch the American, UK and Australian versions of The Traitors. I think they're all great, it's a brilliant format. And Claudia is the best of the presenters."

Broadcast details for The Traitors, Celebrity Traitors (w/t) and The Traitors: Uncloaked will be confirmed in due course. Filming for both commissions will take place in 2025.
