NEW REALITY SERIES ON THE HUNT FOR THE ULTIMATE POWER COUPLE

A new competition format is in development which aims to test whether the most successful relationships are those where you are in love and in business together.

Casting is underway for ambitious young couples to take part in new series titled The Ultimate Power Couple. Each couple will take on challenges to determine the winners, who will an investment into their business and business contacts made throughout the series.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "This new series is what would happen if The Apprentice and Love Island had a baby - testing business-savvy couples in a series of challenges, and putting their relationship on trial too. Business meetings between date nights, strategy sessions across the dinner table, and boardroom showdowns that could spell for heartbreak and financial ruin...

"It’s a high-stakes game that encourages competitors to get their feelings for each other involved and prove their partnership is stronger than the rest. The series is already on the lookout for ‘power couples’ with big personalities to ensure there’s plenty of drama to go around."

Meanwhile, earlier this month ITV announced a thrilling new entertainment format, The Neighbourhood, which sees families and households compete in a street-sized reality game, battling it out for the chance to take home a life-changing cash prize.

Hosted by BAFTA- award- winning broadcaster Graham Norton, and coming next year to ITV1 and ITVX, this brand new 12-part series offers a gameshow as you’ve never seen it before.  It marries high-stakes competition, epic challenges and relatable domestic drama, to offer a different flavour of reality.

The format was developed by Lifted Entertainment’s development team led by Kat Hebden and Development Exec Ed Daggett, alongside the Garden's Director of Development Mike Philo. Lifted Entertainment and The Garden will co-produce. Both are part of ITV Studios.

The Neighbourhood will see real-life households from all walks of life move in side by side, finding themselves not only neighbours but also fierce competitors in the ultimate reality showdown.

This is a game the households will live as well as play.  They’ll be with each other 24/7, sleeping and eating in their houses, socialising between them - and then voting each other out.  The challenges they face in public will change the dynamics behind closed doors.  And to win, they’ll need to defeat their neighbours, while still staying popular on the street. In The Neighbourhood, it’s not about keeping up with the Joneses - it’s about beating them!

More details will be announced in due course.
