THE VOICE UK: CELEBRITY EDITION 'IN DEVELOPMENT' AS SERIES SECURES ITV RECOMMISSION

ITV Studios, the producers behind The Voice UK are reportedly developing a celebrity edition of the talent competition, according to reports from The Sun.

It comes as TV Zone exclusively revealed last week that ITV had recommissioned a fourteenth series to air in 2025. The Sun reports the special, not yet commissioned by the broadcaster, could film in the same production period.

Last Summer it was revealed that ITV had shelved its children's spin-off The Voice Kids after seven series. An ITV spokesperson said at the time: "The Voice Kids is taking a break.. We’re working with Lifted Entertainment on The Voice UK and development of The Voice-branded specials."

A source told The Sun: "The Voice is perfect, family-friendly telly and remains a big part of the ITV schedule. A celebrity version has been discussed at ITV Studios and it's been mentioned to some names to see if they’re up for it... At this stage there are no further details on what it would look like and it hasn’t been officially commissioned."

The Voice UK will return to ITV this Autumn for a brand new series. Emma Willis is back at the helm - presenting the show and presiding over the action - as each of the acts takes to the stage in the hope of turning one of the iconic red chairs.

In search of the next singing sensation, superstar coaches Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am are back and ready to take their seats in the most iconic chairs on television.

They are joined by brand-new coaches in international multi-platinum selling singer and Grammy Award winner LeAnn Rimes and British boyband royalty Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones from McFly who will sit in a double chair for the first time in The Voice UK’s history!

The acts will be competing to ultimately win a life-changing record contract with music giants EMI, £50,000 and a trip to Universal Orlando Resort. The Voice UK returns this Autumn on ITV1.
