THE WINDSOR SET TO RETURN FOR FOURTH SERIES AND CORONATION SPECIAL ON CHANNEL 4

The satirical comedy soap opera lampooning the lives of the royal family is to return for a fourth series on Channel 4, which will include a special episode ahead of The King's Coronation in May.

Written by Bert Tyler-Moore and George Jeffrie, and produced by Noho Film and TV, the first series of The Windsors in 2016 was the highest rating comedy series launch on Channel 4 since 2014. The most recent series aired in 2020.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Saturday Live programme and revealing the news, Haydn Gwynne, who plays Camila said: "[The Windsors] has commissioned another series, which we will be shooting later this year. But also, we're going to be very soon doing a Coronation special."

The cast on the series included Harry Enfield (Prince Charles), Haydn Gwynne (Camilla), Louise Ford (Kate), Hugh Skinner (Wills), Richard Goulding (Harry), Katy Wix, (Fergie), Tim Wallers (Prince Andrew) and Matthew Cottle (Prince Edward). Casting for upcoming episodes has not been announced.

The Windsors has previously aired a Christmas Special and another special to mark the Royal Wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018. Harry (Richard Goulding) and Meghan (Kathryn Drysdale) are excited about their impending marriage but before their big day, they must take Charles (Harry Enfield) to America to meet Doria (Suzette Llewellyn), Meghan's down-to-earth mum.

Channel 4 have not formerly announced the recommission of The Windsors. More details are expected to be revealed in due course.

Previous series of The Windsors are available to stream on All4.
