TRANSACTION: NEW COMEDY FOR ITV STARRING JORDAN GRAY AND NICK FROST

ITV have reportedly commissioned a six-part comedy series from Jordan Gray based on the comedy shorts produced for Comedy Central in 2020. It was previously reported in 2022 that a series was development at ITV.

Produced by Stolen Picture, the sitcom will see Jordan Gray in the leading role as a supermarket worker, with Nick Frost playing her boss and Thomas Gray as her best friend and work colleague.

Supermarket manager Simon (Nick Frost) upsets the LGBTQ+ community with 'clumsy marketing' for his shop. In order to repair relations with the community, he hires Liv (Jordan Gray).

However, seen after hiring Liv, Simon realises that she is unsackable when she turns the shop into "her own playground, unleashing chaos upon her co-workers". Also starring the series - according to The Sun - will be Thomas Gray, Francesca Mills and Doon Mackichan.

A source told The Sun: "The shorts proved themselves to be a huge success, so there’s no surprise that this long-awaited project is finally due to hit screens. It’s been two years in the making, but finally Jordan and Nick are on set for filming...

"The series is going to be colourful, noisy and unapologetic, with Jordan’s razor-sharp writing style and timing paired with Nick’s legendary comedic presence making for comedy dynamite."

The series of shorts recorded over 2.5 million views since it landed online in 2020 (originally produced for Comedy Central).
