UNTIL I KILL YOU: ITV DRAMA DRAWS RECORD AUDIENCE TO ITVX
Until I Kill You, the extraordinary true story of Delia Balmer, who survived a near-fatal relationship with a murderer, is currently tracking as one of ITVX’s biggest ever dramas, second only to Mr Bates v The Post Office, having drawn huge streaming audiences in its first week, with over 10 million streams and counting.
BAFTA-winning actress Anna Maxwell Martin (Motherland, A Spy Among Friends) takes the role of Delia Balmer, the woman at the centre of the drama, and renowned actor and director Shaun Evans (Endeavour, Vigil) plays murderer John Sweeney.
The drama narrates the ordeal Delia suffered at the hands of John Sweeney, and her traumatic journey through the police and criminal justice system as they attempt to prosecute him for his crimes.
The four part series from World Productions, part of ITV Studios, has garnered five star reviews from critics, including from The Guardian, who said ”This extraordinary portrait of Delia Balmer, who survived a relationship with the murderer John Sweeney, is that rarest of things – fearless TV that values viewers’ intelligence.”
Since dropping on ITVX on Sunday November 3rd, streams and streaming hours overall have been up by nearly a third, compared with the same period last year, and the series itself has been streamed 10.7 million times in its first week.
Of the viewers who watched the series ahead of its Monday night broadcast, 80% of those who started on episode 2 have already watched the whole series.
