VIRGIN ISLAND: NEW REALITY SERIES SET FOR CHANNEL 4
Channel 4 have commissioned six-part dating series Virgin Island, a new exciting, taboo- shaking, relatable social experiment which explores sexual attraction.
The twist - all the contestants identify as virgins and have never had sex before. Across the series, viewers will follow the twelve contestants as they take tentative steps towards losing their virginity and delve into the science behind sexual attraction.
The contestants will be coached by Celeste Hirshman and Danielle Harel, along with 'sexological bodyworkers' Aisha, Thomas and Joy, plus 'surrogate partners' Kat and Andre.
A source told The Sun earlier this year: "This is very much a Love Island scenario, but a dating show with a real difference... Of course it has echoes of Love Island but it’s a bit more sophisticated and complicated than just lazing round a pool eyeing each other up before all pairing up for bedtime antics when the lights go out."
Meanwhile, Channel 4 have also commissioned The Honesy Box, a nine-part reality dating experiment for E4 which will test if honesty is the secret to finding true and everlasting love.
The series brings a cast of singles together in “Truetopia”, a sunny and romantic paradise where truth and honesty reign supreme. Ready to try a new approach, each single has signed up to this new radical dating experiment knowing they will be tested, in the hope it will lead to true love.
To encourage full transparency in their new relationships there is a prize fund of £100,000 up for grabs, but only if the daters choose to be open and completely honest about their true feelings.
Every day the daters will face The Honesty Box – a new AI-enhanced software – to be asked probing questions about their feelings. If The Honesty Box detects deception, it could impact their newly formed relationship… and the prize fund. The singles will be guided through the experiment by host Vicky Pattison.
More details will be announced in due course.
